I’m Lost Without You

IMG_8057Ba ha ha ha!!! The joke’s on me with this card. Can you tell why? If not keep reading.

IMG_8064This is a card we made at my last Mother Daughter Stamp Club. One of the club members had been asking about Heat & Stick Powder so I incorporated Heat & Stick Powder and Dazzling Diamond Glitter. Come back tomorrow for a video tutorial on the wonders of Heat & Stick and how to use it.

IMG_8087For this card I also wanted to use some of our new items from the Occasions Catalog – our World Traveler Textured Embossing Folder and Going Global Stamp Set.

I thought I was so smart
I wanted to be able to stamp the greeting on top of the embossed image. My “a-ha” brilliant idea was to use the underside of the impression so that the surface would be flat for stamping. I thought I was so smart until one of the girls at club remarked, “Yeah, but … when you use that side doesn’t it make the globe wrong?” … crickets

That’s when one of the moms said, “Well, it just shows I really am lost without you.” Good save.

Hello Birthday Girl

IMG_7976For a quick, simple card, Stampin’ Up!’s new stamp set “Hello” (one of the FREE items from our Sale-A-Bration catalog) is just the ticket! This card came together in no time flat. And here’s how …

IMG_8006Note Cards & Envelopes:
On page 149 of our current Annual Catalog, we feature our Note Cards & Envelopes in either Crumb Cake or Whisper White. It doesn’t get any faster or easier than to simply reach for one of these precut and prescored note cards.  Each of these packs has 20 sets of cards and envelopes for only $6.00 so they’re both quick and easy to use as well as economical!
Note: For a little added pizzazz, I covered the flap of the envelope with Birthday Bouquet DSP.

Memento Pad in Tuxedo Black:
I stamped both “hello” and “Birthday Girl” with Memento Ink. Boom. Done!

Stampin’ Write Markers:
Grab an assortment of our Stampin’ Write Markers and with the paint brush tip color each stripe of the hat with a different color. Huff on the stamp to remoisten the ink before stamping  your card.

Sooooooooo quick and easy! And adorable too!

IMG_8008Quick Tip:
The Hello Stamp Set comes in either wood block or clear. If you want exact precision in lining up the second stamp under “hello”, use our Stamp-a-ma-jig. For a video tutorial on how to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig, see this post. This is a tutorial from last year. You can find the Stamp-a-ma-jig on page 176 of this year’s Annual Catalog.

Happy Birthday with Balloon Celebration

IMG_7966What says Happy Birthday better than balloons? Perhaps the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set and coordinating Balloon Bouquet Punch!

IMG_7972The Sky
I love this sweet card. The “sky” came together with a piece of Pool Party cardstock that’s covered with a piece of vellum from the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Stack. This stack is one of the Sale-A-Bration items that can be yours for FREE with a qualifying order. 🙂
The balloons are stamped with Pool Party onto the vellum. The subtle images have the effect of balloons in the distance being obscured by clouds.

Creating Dimension:
IMG_7999Punch art and Stampin’ Dimensionals work great together to create the illusion of depth among your images.
For instance, the balloon on the far right is punched out of our new Birthday Bouquet DSP and adhered to the vellum overlay.
The two middle balloons are punched with Watermelon Wonder and Pear Pizzazz cardstock and are both elevated with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The balloon on the far left, however, is punched out of the Pool Party/vellum base and then the entire panel is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals with a small piece of matching DSP underneath.

Bundle for a Great Deal!
The Balloon Celebration Stamp Set and coordinating Balloon Bouquet Punch can be purchased as a Bundle which means a 15% savings for you! If you prefer, however, they can be purchased separately.

Thank My Lucky Stars

IMG_7960IMG_7997I get excited when I come across a stamp set with multi-purposes. This stamp set, Going Global, is one of those versatile sets. I was quick to order it from the new Occasions Catalog along with coordinating DSP Stack, Going Places.

My mind’s eye immediately envisioned:

  • Masculine projects,
  • Valentines Day, and
  • Fathers Day

Creating a celestial background:
To create a subtle backdrop in my card here, I stamped the Big Dipper image on the Lost Lagoon cardstock with my VersaMark pad instead of the Lost Lagoon ink. I carefully planned where to stamp and where to adhere the vanilla cardstock in an attempt to avoid numerous Big Dippers.

Oh my stars!
The beautiful paper I used from the Going Places DSP reminds me of satellite pictures of Earth. To emphasize my night theme, I added stars with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack star stamp. The Silver Glimmer Paper added that extra “twinkle.”

Let Us Celebrate with Flowering Fields

IMG_7944This gorgeous stamp set, Flowering Fields, is one of several items you can earn for FREE during our Sale-A-Bration promotion. This photograph doesn’t do the stamped image justice. It’s beautiful! Each of the six flowers, and the butterfly, were designed with fine lines – perfect for coloring with markers or Aqua Painters.

After stamping the images with our waterproof Archival Basic Black ink pad, I used our Stampin’ Write markers to color the images.

IMG_7921What I’m MOST psyched about, however, is that I then highlighted areas of the stamped images with our brand new Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. We carry two in our new Occasions Catalog – one in clear and the other in gold. I used the clear brush here.

These glitter brushes are INCREDIBLE!!!! With a dab here and there, you can add glitter in a snap. The effect is simply stunning.

To follow is a Stampin’ Up! video tutorial on how to prep and use these beauties.

Don’t Throw That Container Away!

IMG_7828There are some containers I can’t recycle much less throw away. They “have potential” as a stamping project. Sound familiar? Yep, I bet you have a gaggle of empty jars and containers yourself.

This jar was too good to discard. It has a completely smooth, flat, black top and smooth, straight sides. With a little DSP, washi tape, and punch art I had a cute surprise for a co-worker.

Place your order now by using the Shop Now button in the upper right corner of the screen. And don’t forget to choose your FREE Sale-A-Bration item(s) with your qualifying order. For information about this special promotion – and our new Occasions Catalog -go here.

Cookie Packets

cookies

Are these adorable or what? These cookie packets made with our Envelope Punch Board are perfect for party or shower favors. And they are so easy to make. Simply measure the size of your cookie to determine what size paper you need to begin with. As long as your cookies aren’t too thick, an envelope will house your cookie perfectly.

Be sure to “Follow Me” if you haven’t already. I’ll be posting projects in the next few days with more of our new Occasions and Sale-A-Bration items. I’m getting a new order today and I’m psyched!

Video – Mini Tissue Packet

IMG_7722It seems everyone is getting the sniffles these days. Most likely because our weather in Woodstock, GA has been so wackadoo. We wore shorts  on Christmas day and now it’s 28 degrees. Being as such, I thought it would be fun to make cute tissue packets to hand out to those under the weather.

This easy gift item was made with Stampin’ Up!’s Envelope Punch Board, our NEW Botanical Gardens DSP and a nifty online tool called the Box Buster by The Crafty Owl.

Simply measure the width, depth and height of the item that requires a box. Add those dimensions into the Box Buster and it will calculate the paper size you need and where to make the first and second punches. Bada bing, bada boom!

To place an order, use the Shop Now button in the top right hand corner. And don’t forget to choose your FREE Sale-A-Bration (SAB) item. Video – Mini Paper Tote for Treats

IMG_7737This is my second post for the day. If you didn’t see my earlier post with a video tour of the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) and Occasions Catalogs, you can see it here.

This treat container is a project I first saw by Angie Juda of Chic n Scratch. It’s quick and easy to make with just cardstock and your Stampin’ Trimmer.

Outer Wrap: 11″ x 3-1/4″ scored at 4-3/4″ and 6-1/4″
Tote Base: 5″ x 3-3/8″ scored at 1″ on all four sides
DSP: 4-1/2″ x 3″

This DSP and the framelits are part of a tri-bundle which includes the Botanical Bloom Stamp Set, the Botanical Builder Framelit Dies and the Botanical Garden DSP. All three items are combined for a 15% discount plus the bundle qualifies you to earn one FREE SAB item. Woo hoo!

Scoop these items up now by using my Shop Now button in the upper right hand corner. And don’t forget to choose your FREE SAB item. If you don’t have a Stampin’ Up! Consultant, email me at amysinklings@gmail.com so that I can send you our new SAB and Occasions Catalogs.
