EOS Lip Balm Curvy Keepsake Box for CYCI#97

eos curvy keepsake box 2The Inspiration Challenge for Can You Case It this week has brilliant red ornaments, gold accents, white snowflakes and fluffy white snow. I was inspired to stamp white snowflakes with StazOn Ink onto Window Sheets to make a Curvy Keepsake Box for a red EOS Lip Balm.

Happy Thanksgiving!

MD-HappyThanksgiving_11-2012It’s a beautiful day in Woodstock, GA. I’ve enjoyed a lazy, yummy breakfast with the hubs and the opportunity to prepare desserts for our Thanksgiving feast we will have with family later in the day.

There are infinite reasons why I feel thankful this time of year. Most notably at the moment was that we received good news for a family member who has recently diagnosed with a serious illness. God is good!

Above all else I am thankful for my family and for the love and fellowship of family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Video – “So Grateful” InKing Blog Hop

So GratefulWelcome to InKing Royalty’s November Blog Hop! Today’s hop is filled with inspiring projects that share the gratefulness of the season. Whether you are ready to celebrate Thanksgiving this week or just feel reflective of the things that make you thankful, we are sure you’ll find great inspiration from our talented team members. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

There are so many things – and people in your life – to be grateful for. Why not surprise them with this adorable treat?

A Little Something at Amy's Inklings aI’ve used Stampin’ Up!’s 4 x 6 cellophane bag to house four York Peppermint Patties (my fave candy, by the way). Each candy has been adorned with punch art and rubber stamping using the A Little Something Stamp Set. I tied it all up with Silver Cording Trim since the silver cord coordinated with the silver packaging of the candy.

Here’s another version made with pretzel bags from Walmart. As you can see, this adorable stamp set makes great Christmas treats too!

Punch Happy for CYCI#96

IMG_7130 with markI was giddy with delight when I saw this week’s Can You Case It challenge sketch. I immediately thought of circle punches. If you’re familiar with my blog you know that I LOVE using Stampin’ Up! punches. I love the expediency of punches and that they coordinate with so many of our stamp sets. Love, love, love!

11986588_10206967032749704_7452690772074734703_nIf you like “quick and simple” cards this is one for you. And with the And Many More stamp set you can create twenty-two (!!!) different cards using this same concept. You can’t beat that!

For a little added “punch” I embellished some of the circles with our Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers. I think they look great.

Do you see all of those extra circles that I punched? They’ll end up in the card when I send it to shower the recipient and his/her carpet with confetti! They’ll LOVE that! And maybe not … 🙂

Stampin’ Trimmer and Cutting Mat

IMG_7009 with markStampin’ Up!’s Stampin’ Trimmer is one of the most essential tools, if not the most essential tool,  that every rubber stamper needs.

The best features of our trimmer include:
* The ability to cut 12″ without having to remove the scoring blade,
* A 6-1/4″ cutting base and 14-1/2″ extendable arm for large projects,
* A grid to ensure more accurate cuts,
* A right side grid for cutting thin strips, and
* A Rotary Addition with decorative cutting blades.

On occasion the cutting blade needs to be replaced. When new blades aren’t making clean cuts, though, it may be time to replace the cutting mat. See the video tutorial to follow.

Hello CYCI#95 Color Challenge

IMG_6993 with mark10404211_10206967030869657_8794179892060936124_nThis week for Can You Case It we are challenging you to use the color palette of yellows, browns and neutrals. I have always loved the earthy color combination of yellow and brown so I was pretty excited to get started with my card.

SU! card with mark
The overall design was inspired by cards featured in our July/August Stampin’ Success magazine.

What drew me to this card design was the simple use of DSP and the whisper-thin, squiggly line stamped just above the greeting. That squiggly line alone is a great reason to invest in the Tin of Cards Stamp Set. Of course it has excellent greetings too!

The following tutorial will walk you through the steps to make this card.
