Heat Embossing 101

teaserIn a few days I’ll be posting a video tutorial on how to make this Top Note Bigz “purse” treat bag. I did the heat embossing portion today to save time before filming the full tutorial. Here’s a little tease of what’s to come as well as the basics of heat embossing.

The Embossing Buddy is your friend buddy!
I lost my train of thought while filming this and never fully explained the purpose of this little item.
Errant flecks of embossing powder will stick to static on the cardstock and to moisture or oil from your fingerprints. These specks aren’t easy to see – until you heat emboss. And once set by heat, those specks can’t be removed. Rub the Embossing Buddy on your cardstock before stamping to eliminate embossing powder from getting stuck where it shouldn’t!

Check back on Saturday for the full post on how to make this cute little bag.
