You are going to see a LOT of this fabulous little tree. It’s part of the “Sheltering Tree” stamp set that appears in our Occasions Catalog going live on January 6th. I’ve used it many, many times over my school break. I.LOVE. IT.
Even though the tree is the main feature of this stamp set, I once again have the bicycle as the main character in this card. I did the same in this card too. There’s just something about the simplicity and sweetness of this bicycle that has stolen my heart. Perhaps it brings back childhood memories of riding my bike with my brother to the community pool. Good times! 🙂
Layering an image over dark ink:
I wanted to make sure that when I stamped the black elements of the bicycle on top of the dark tree trunk, that the bicycle wouldn’t get lost in the dark ink of the tree. To do so, I stamped the bicycle with Versamark and then heat embossed the image with black embossing powder. After that had cooled, I stamped the frame of the bicycle with Versamark and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. I love the way it turned out!
Note: This is a Photopolymer stamp set. As such, it requires clear blocks. I used Clear blocks G, D and B.
The new items aren’t listed below. After the 6th I can list them with the product number and cost.
If you are interested in hosting a Stampin’ Up! event or if you’re interested in becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I’d be happy to help you!
