hereThe great thing about participating in challenges is that it gets me thinking “outside of the box.” In this case, outside of the 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ box.
This Tall and Skinny card measures 3-1/2″ x 7″. The stamp set is For the Birds which is great for watercoloring. But I also like that it has both images and text. I often isolate just the text to use it with images from another stamp set.
Tips for isolating parts of a stamp:
1) Use our Stampin’ Write Markers to apply ink to the stamp. If you want only the text, ink just the text, huff (breathe) on it to remoisten the ink, and then stamp as usual. However, if you want to watercolor the image, our Stampin’ Write Markers aren’t an option since they are water based and will bleed when watercolored,
2) I often separate the text from the image of a stamp. If you try this, refer to the rubber side of the stamp, not the sticker side, to be sure you’re not cutting into the actual image of the stamp.
